How to Configure the iOS 16 Fitness App

Greatings, everyone. In this blog post, we will show you how to set up iOS 16's new fitness app. It's the only new app to debut in iOS 16, but it's actually an old app that's now more useful to more people.

Prior to iOS 16, Apple Watch owners could use the Fitness app on their iPhone to track their activity statistics, but with the release of iOS 16, the app is now available to everyone, regardless of wearable technology. You may now monitor your daily activity and create objectives for leading a more active lifestyle. Nevertheless, you must first understand how to configure the Fitness app.

With only two places to activate, getting started with Fitness on iOS 16 is surprisingly simple. We'll explain what data you must give the Fitness app and how to make sure your activity trends are documented in our guide on how to set up the app on your iPhone. If you need some additional inspiration to keep moving, we can also teach you how to share your activity with others.

In the following steps, we will show you

1. Open Fitness, then select Continue from the welcome screen.

2. Type in your contact information. Your birth date, sex, height, and weight will be required. When finished, tap continue.

3. Decide how many calories you want to burn each day and set a daily exercise target. You can decide whether you want to be barely moving, slightly moving, or really moving. Fitness offers minimums for each level, but by pressing the plus and minus buttons, you can choose your own objective.on any iPhone running iOS 16.

4. Choose Set Move Goal after choosing the desired target.

5. A request to set up Fitness notifications will appear. They will ping you throughout the day to let you know if your daily move goal has been met.

This is it. The fitness app is now set up and will begin logging your steps and distance travelled, translating that data into the number of calories burned throughout the day. Shut your ring to begin earning the prizes and badges that are shown on the Fitness app's home page.

Fitness apps track more than just your daily journey distance and step count. It's more versatile. Also, it monitors your progress in four areas, including your daily movement goal (measured in calories), the distance you cover daily, the speed at which you walk, and the speed at which you run.

Fitness starts working when you've logged 180 days of activity and does this by comparing your last 90 days of activity to the previous year.

You must first grant the Fitness app permission to perform all of this tracking, though. It only takes a few taps.

1. On the Fitness Summary screen, scroll down to the Trends section (it's just below Activity) and press Get started.

2. Tap Yes on the Activity Trends screen that follows to allow the Fitness app to track your advancement over time.

1. On the splash screen that appears, click Get Started to begin sharing data with others by tapping Sharing in the bottom right corner of the screen.

2. To share Activity statistics with others, tap the button in the upper right corner. You can enter email addresses or choose contacts by tapping the + button.
